Bernice Frances Strittmatter, 81, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away at home Friday, December 28, 2018. Bernice was born February 23, 1937 in Lindsay, TX to Clem Hermes and Amelia Rauschuber. Bernice married David Joseph Strittmatter on August 27, 1960 in Lindsay, TX. Bernice is survived by four sons, Alan Strittmatter and wife Rae Ann of Pilot Point, TX, Joseph Strittmatter and wife Marla of Aubrey, TX, Patrick Strittmatter and wife Ashli of Frisco, TX, Andrew Strittmatter and wife Lindsey of Frisco, TX; three daughters, Leslie Mascari and husband Marty of Pilot Point, TX, Julie West and husband Dave of Fort Worth, TX, Amy Mann and husband Mitchell of Pilot Point, TX; 21 grandchildren, Joseph and wife Grace Mascari, Jordan Mascari, Katie Mascari, Maddy Mascari, Ashley West, Sophie West, Shane West, Allison Strittmatter, Ashlyn Strittmatter, Aaron Strittmatter, Keeli Mann, Gabriel Mann, Lauren Strittmatter, Reed Strittmatter, Collin Strittmatter, Abigail Strittmatter, Ava Strittmatter, Isla Strittmatter, Amelia Strittmatter and August Strittmatter; brother, Gilbert Hermes of Lindsay, TX; five sisters, Frieda Hundt and Lou Schad of Lindsay, TX, Rita Corcoran, Millie Voth and Angela Haverkamp of Gainesville, TX. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Amelia; husband, David; grandson, Jack Strittmatter; two brothers, Clem and Joe Hermes; two sisters, Mary Hundt and Anna Hermes. Rosary will be said 4:00PM Sunday, December 30, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point, TX followed by visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point, TX with Fr. James Flynn officiating. Interment will be on December 31, 2018 at St. Thomas Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX. Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com.
