Danny K Salsman, 72, of Pilot Point, TX passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023, in Pilot Point, TX. Danny was born on October 31, 1950, in Gainesville, TX to Raymon and Anabel (Miller) Salsman. This is where he grew up, graduated high school and gained his love for rodeo and horses. Long before Danny became a respected horseman, he was a cowboy, and he lived by the “cowboy code”. His first passion was riding bulls which he started when he was 6 years old and continued rodeo as a young adult. He bought his first horse when he was 16 and every job since then involved horses. He galloped and broke young racehorses; trained pleasure horses, fit show horses gaining experience with each opportunity. After an injury prevented him from continuing to ride, he shifted his focus to breeding horses where he gained a reputation as a leading stallion manager standing multiple industry leading sires where he offered stallion management, breeding management and embryo transfer services. Danny was engrained with a code of ethics and a conviction to always do what was right; whether it mattered to anyone, when no one was watching or when it wasn’t self-serving. He was a “true” southern gentleman whose proudest accomplishment was his children. The people they have become, and the children they are raising. Danny endured tremendous adversity with grit and grace. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance to never give up and never stop fighting and he never did. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karon; one son, Raymond D. Salsman of Winfield, KS; two daughters, Amy D. Salsman Kirkland of Highlands Ranch, CO and Kalyn M. Salsman of Waller, TX; six grandchildren, Brittany Mondelo, Kelsey Estrada, Baleigh Salsman, Sierra Salsman, Kodi Salsman, and Scarlett Kirkland; one great grandson, Braxton; one sister, Carol Ann Scott; father & mother-in-law, Joe & Georgie Pilcik of Katy, TX; one brother-in-law, Michael Pilcik of Sealy, TX; two sisters-in-law, Diana Stoelke and husband Mike of Fayetteville, TX and Kathy Cincotta and husband George of Sugarland, TX; and one cousin, Mike Swindle of Oklahoma City, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymon & Anabel; one brother, Billy Ray Salsman; and one brother-in-law, Don Scott. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Lone Star Lodge & Marina, 2200 FM 1192, Pilot Point, TX 76258. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Fairbanks, Jr., Barry Wood, Mike Shivers, Ted Turner Jr., and Phil Rowbatham. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association P.O.
