Lee Massie Gills, 62, beloved brother, father, and husband, passed away peacefully, May 29, 2023, surrounded by his family, due to complications of Parkinson’s disease, in Aubrey , TX. Lee was the son of Russell Aubrey Gills, Jr. and Page Beck Gills. He was born in Virginia Beach, VA on July 15, 1960. Lee grew up in Virginia Beach and went West after graduating from Norfolk Catholic High School. Upon graduation from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1984 , he returned to the beach to pursue a career in sales with his father. Lee was one of a kind and his personality would shine through when he was in sales mode. He had no fear of picking up the phone and had never met a stranger. He had a successful sales career, first in the paper industry then insurance with his father, and over 20 years with BPO in consulting. Lee married Kimberly S. Jenkins in January 1990, and they had two beautiful children, Zachary Fielding and Courtney Deane. Lee loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and excellent snow skier. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and ATVs in the mountains and in the desert. He was a car enthusiast, especially fast ones, and a fabulous cook who loved to use his Big Green Egg. Lee was also a very spiritual man who dearly loved his Heavenly Father. He served in many callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and cherished his time working with the youth. Lee always tried to make the best of every situation. We will all greatly miss his quirky sense of humor and hardy laughter. Preceding him in death were his parents Russell A. Gills, Jr. and Page B. Gills. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Kimberly (Jenkins) Gills; son, Zachary Fielding and wife Jada; daughter, Courtney Deane; grandson, Oliver Fielding; two sisters, Page E. Hitch and Amelia Alissa; brother Russell A. Gills, III.; and four nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM,June 17, 2023, at Slay Memorial Funeral Chapel, 400 S Highway 377, Aubrey, TX 76227.
