Anthony Ray Mendoza, born July 23, 1978, passed away on June 12, 2025, at his home in Little Elm, Texas. Anthony was born to Nasario and Esperanza Mendoza and spent most of his life in Dallas before planting roots in Little Elm with the love of his life, Courtney Mendoza. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and just the right amount of sarcasm. Anthony is survived by his wife, Courtney; his children, Jacob Mendoza and Chasity Som; his mother, Esperanza Mendoza; and his siblings, Pat (Vincent) Gonzaba, Felicia (Paul) Ramirez, and Albert (Diane) Mendoza. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, a circle of extended family, lifelong friends, and his fur babies, Nash, Lucy, and Lola. A passionate sports fan, Anthony lived and breathed Dallas teams, especially the Rangers, Stars, and Mavs. His love for sports translated into a 15-year career in sports radio, where his voice, humor, and sharp takes earned him a loyal audience. To know Anthony was to know someone who showed up every single time. He had a gift for connection. He checked in when it mattered most and he made people laugh when they didn’t know they needed it. On the outside, he had the grit and bark of a tough guy, but on the inside was someone full of sweetness, loyalty, and a wicked sense of humor that brought light (and often a few raised eyebrows) to every room he entered. He was the glue. The one who remembered birthdays. The one who followed up. The one who made sure everyone knew they mattered. Anthony had many loves. His family, his friends, and most notably, Rocky Balboa. His spirit was unshakable, his heart unmatched, and his impact undeniable. He could turn any moment into a joke. His legacy lives on in the people he made laugh, the relationships he nurtured, and the stories that will be told and retold for years to come. “Life's not about how hard of a hit you can give... it's about how many you can take, and still keep moving forward.” ― Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa Visitation will be held 11:00AM-12:00PM, Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM with John Hardimon officiating.
