Daniel Thomas Boerner, age 86 of Pilot Point, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in Denton, Texas. Daniel was born in Pilot Point, Texas, July 20, 1936 to William Frank and Rosa Fischer Boerner. He was the youngest of five siblings and the last surviving member of the W.F. (Frank) and Rosa Boerner family. He married Glenda L. Cooper January 3, 1959 in Pilot Point and is survived by her and his two daughters, Tina Parrent and husband Bobby of Pilot Point, Sirena Olson and husband Jason of Little Elm; five grandchildren, Alan and wife Abby Parrent of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Abby Parrent of Pilot Point, Faren Manuel of The Colony, Gavin Olson of Little Elm, and Trevor Olson of Pilot Point. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cindy Olson, grandson, Tad Travis; two brothers, Alois Boerner and Charles Boerner and two sisters, Marie Fortin and Delores Bedrick. Daniel was born and raised in Pilot Point and graduated from Pilot Point High School in 1954. He has many extended family members and friends in the area and was still good friends with many of his classmates. Daniel worked hard during his lifetime and began his career by owning a gas station in Pilot Point in the 1960s. He then started working for Victor Equipment Company in Denton, Texas, in August 1965 and retired as the maintenance supervisor after 37 years. He made life-long friends throughout his career with Victor. In retirement, he enjoyed the farm life on his land raising cattle and watching his hay fields grow. He was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Daniel enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball, softball, volleyball and participate in the marching band. He loved NASCAR and even raced his own cars in his early days, earning many trophies. Daniel never met a stranger. He quietly led by example and leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, and devoted family and friends who will miss him dearly. The Pallbearers are: Bobby Parrent, Alan Parrent, Jason Olson, Gavin Olson, Trevor Olson, and Clarence Boerner. The Honorary Pallbearers are: Maurice Fortin, Jr., Eddie Bedrick, Phillip Bedrick, Steve Bedrick, Tommy Bedrick, David Boerner, and James Boerner. Rosary will be held at 6:30PM Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Slay Chapel in Aubrey with visitation following from 7:00PM-8:00PM. Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 26, 2022 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Pilot Point with burial following at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery.
