Danny Lee Chandler, age 63, was born to Clarence Ray (Johnny) and Peggy Chandler in Sanger, TX on September 24, 1952. Danny was surrounded by his loved ones when he was called to his heavenly home on Friday evening, May 27, 2016.Danny has been a custom cabinet maker for over 40 years. He owned Danny and Sons Cabinets in Pilot Point, TX. He was a very active member of the Pilot Point American Legion Post 550 for 43 years. He participated in local cookouts and loved helping others. Danny served as a sergeant in the Vietnam War in the 525 Sig Co 3rd Brigade 1st Calvary Division. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and driving his John Deere tractor.Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Slay Memorial Funeral Chapel in Aubrey, TX. The Rev. Luther Slay will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, May 31, 2016 from 7:00PM-8:00PM at the Slay Chapel in Aubrey. Burial will be at Pilot Point Community Cemetery.Danny leaves behind his wife, Sarah Joy, of 41 years. He has two sons; Logan Chandler and wife Tanya of Callisburg,TX., and Barry Chandler and wife Sarah Marie of Pilot Point, TX. He was blessed with seven grandchildren; Diamond, Salina, Stacia, Logan Jayde, Ava, AJ, and Mallory. He has two great-grandchildren, Emerald and Lilly. He is also survived by his mother, Peggy Chandler of Pilot Point, TX; brothers, Buster Chandler and wife Vickie, and Rick Chandler and wife Felisa, all of Pilot Point, TX. He has three sisters; Jeannine Lanier and husband Bill of Sanger, TX., Deb Keith and husband Bill, and Connie Simmel all of Pilot Point, TX. Danny also has an uncle, Roy Turpin and wife Brenda of Krugerville, TX. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Danny was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; grandmother and grandfather Ruth and Roy Turpin,Sr. and Grandmother Ada and Grandfather Chandler; uncles, W.D. Chandler, Bill Chandler, and Jody Chandler.Pallbearers for the service are nephews; Adam Keith, Josh and Coby Chandler, Spencer, Richard, and Buddy Worthey, and Chris Simmel. Honorary pallbearer is nephew, Willie Keith.
