Jerry Wayne Starr, 69, of Shady Shores, TX, passed away Wednesday evening, September 23, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 31, 1946, in Aubrey, Texas, to Brady and Geneva (Irick) Starr. Jerry married Sherry Vinson on December 24, 1986 in Aubrey, TX. Jerry spent his life on and around horses. He loved riding and roping. He worked as a plumber for many years earning his master plumbing license in 1976. He worked at Morrison Milling in Denton from 1995 until his retirement in 2008. Jerry was one of five boys. He was raised and lived in Aubrey until he moved to Shady Shores in 1986. He was a very loving father, husband, grandfather and friend, and will be tremendously missed by all who knew him. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sherry Starr, of Shady Shores, TX; eight children, Renae Corple and husband Steve of Sanger, Lerae Parrent and husband Jeff of Aubrey, Starla Alambar and husband Norman of Aubrey, Patsi Cassidy and husband Patrick of Ponder, Hardy Starr and wife April of Era, Dorie Hutchinson and husband Elisha of Denton, D'Ann Atherton of Denton, Taylor Parsons and husband John of Denton, and one adopted son Charlie Oldaker; fourteen grandchildren, Jessica Mills, Lance Corple, Kaleb and Clay Parrent, Carlee Williams, Norman Alambar, Kenzie Parrent, Ricky Mendoza, Nolan Alambar, Jeydon Gloria, Zane and Berkley Cassidy, Reagan Smith and Lane Starr; great-grandchildren, Remington Mills and Athens Parrent; ten nieces and eight nephews; four brothers, Jerall Holzer of Wichita Falls, Ronnie Starr of Pilot Point, Terry Starr of Harlingen, and Garry Starr of Aubrey; one uncle, Jimmy Don Starr of Colleyville. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Brady and Geneva Starr; granddaughter Kelsea Parrent, and father-in-law Mokie Vinson. Memorial service to be held at Gateway/Bell Avenue Church, 2401 N Bell Ave, Denton, TX, on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00 am, officiated by Reverend Bob Joyce.
