Randy Lee Johnson, 68, passed away, Tuesday December 31, 2024 in, Arp Texas. Randy was born October 3, 1956 in Whittier, Ca. to Edward Joseph Johnson and Frances Ellen (Leroy) Johnson who were married September 3, 1954 Randy is preceded by his parents, Edward and Frances Johnson. Randy is survived by his wife, Marilynn (Mel) Jane Becker Johnson, of Arp Texas, and married November 6 th , 1999, his sons, Randy Joseph Johnson and Christopher Alexander Johnson, his siblings, sister Gail Marie Johnson Cummins and brother Kim Edward Ashley Johnson, stepson Michael Henry, and 2 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter of Pennsylvania. Randy had many passions through his life and could light up a room when he walked in. He was full of life and he never met a stranger. No one was a stranger to him, just a friend he hadn’t spoken to yet. As an adolescent he was instructed in Judo and it had a strong influence on his life. He achieved a 4 th Degree Blackbelt when he finished instruction. In high school he participated in gymnastics with excellence and was a member of VICA, a national Vocational Industrial Clubs of America. After he graduated high school, he attended Mt Sac Antonio College. He also studied Christian theology. He achieved his BA in Homeland Security and Emergency Defense management. He served in the Navy after college. One of his passions was woodworking using his creativity and reached an impressive skill. Following in our dad’s footsteps he started playing Horseshoes and loved sharing it with our dad. He played in a competitive community and was state champion in his league. One of his best accolades is how much he loved his wife, Mel. He would always say “I don’t need to go to Vegas or buy a lottery ticket, I already hit the jackpot marrying her “ He is remembered by many as “Dad”. He filled a spot in hearts of those who needed someone to care. He was honest and truthful when they needed advice. Public viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00PM at the Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, Texas with a service following at 3:00PM.
