Sara Marie (Ford) Inman, 76, of Pilot Point, TX, was called home by her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2024 in Pilot Point, TX. Sara was born on November 28, 1947 in Celina, TX to Millard Edward Ford and Dorothy Marie (Mayfield) Ford. Sara was born and raised in the rural farming community between Pilot Point and Celina. Sara had a love for southern gospel music, which began at a very young age when she spent 2-3 weeks out of the summer at her Grandma Davis’ home in Dallas, TX where she attended the Stamps-Baxter School of Music, and even sang on the local radio station there. Sara’s love for southern gospel music remained throughout her entire life, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Sara’s musical abilities included singing soprano, playing the piano, organ, and trombone. Sara’s musical gifts were instrumental in meeting her future husband, Doyle, while giving piano lessons to Doyle’s sister, Barbara. Sara and Doyle were married on December 29, 1966. Upon graduating from Pilot Point High School (class of 1966), Sara attended Texas Woman's University where she studied nursing. After working at a local family physician’s office for several years, Sara’s career turned to clerical work and bookkeeping, which led to owning her own bookkeeping service. Sara had many gifts, aside from music and bookkeeping, which included sewing, gardening, and baking the most amazing homemade rolls and pies. Sara’s greatest love, by far, was her family and would use all of her gifts to bless them any way that she could. Sara is survived by her husband, Doyle D. Inman, of Pilot Point, TX; daughters Angelia Marie “Angie” Inman of Pilot Point, TX and Sara Yvonne “Von” Tetmeyer (husband Jeffery) of Pilot Point, TX; grandchildren: MarRissa Marie Turnbow (husband Tyler) of Edmond, OK, Joshua Allen Jacob Peterson (wife Jenni) of LaPorte, TX, Jeremy Lynn Peterson of Pilot Point, TX, Hannah Victoria Smith (husband Adam) of Bartlett, TN, Harmony Kathryn Goodwin (husband Alan) of Olive Branch, MS, and Joel Andrew Tetmeyer (wife Lillian) of Greenwood, AR; great grandchildren: Jaxon Blake Turnbow, Gideon Eric Smith, Zealand Wayne Smith, and Sara Anna Peterson; brothers Millard Edward “Butch” Ford, Jr (wife Andrea) and Jimmy Lynn Ford. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and honorary pallbearer Wayne Triplett. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Slay Memorial Chapel, Aubrey, TX. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Pilot Point Community Cemetery.
