Tammy Lynn (Worthy) Armor, 57, of Forestburg, TX passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Denton, TX. She was born on June 26, 1967, in Denton, TX to Willam “Bill” Robert Worthy and Lois Blackburn Worthy. She married Jimmy Doyce Armor on November 15, 1991, in Aubrey, TX. Since she was a toddler, Tammy loved animals. When she was small, she could be found in the backyard, inside the doghouse with the new litter of puppies! Tammy fancied herself as a cowgirl! She got her first horse, Shorty, when she was five years old, and they were pals! She was over the moon for her Grandpa Blackburn, and they would go on trail rides together. When Tammy got tired and started to nod off, he would put her on his horse, and she would sleep as they rode along with Shorty in tow! Grandpa Blackburn bought her the first pair of boots she ever owned, and she kept them all these years as a reminder of the good times they had. The boots will be displayed by the guest book during her service. Tammy and Grandpa Blackburn had a bond held only by a grandfather and granddaughter. The last time she saw her grandpa, her Uncle Tommy brought him out to the lake. Tammy was so happy and proud of his visit. She was saved and baptized in 1978 at Aubrey Assembly of God. At the age of 12, Tammy was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Oh, don’t worry, it didn’t slow her down! Back in the day, Tammy and Kim Branch would go trampling through the woods in Krugerville, before a lot of the current streets existed. She soon got her license, and then her first car. Tammy always came up with an excuse to go to Keno’s to meet up with her life-long friends, Cynthia, Darlene, and Sabrina. I am sure they were cruising the strip in Denton and driving all the boys crazy! Haha! I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure! When Tammy turned 20, she gave birth to her baby boy, Chris. They were inseparable. They went through a lot together and she loved him so much! At the age of 22, Tammy welcomed her baby girl, Megan, who quickly became a daddy’s girl. She married me, the love of her life, on November 15, 1991. We started our lives together living in the Aubrey/Pilot Point area, before moving to Granbury in 1996. There, she was able to be a stay-at-home mom. From a very early age, Tammy loved to help others! She joined the PTA, worked at the kid’s schools, and volunteered where she could. In 2008, our family moved back to Pilot Point. By faith, God led her to volunteer again. She soon took a job as the Site Manager for the Senior Center in Pilot Point and she loved it! It was pretty clear that it was her center! A civilian having the keys to a city owned building is unheard of! If someone rented it and messed it up, she would raise cane! Anyone who worked for the City of Pilot Point in the last 10 years knew her and that smile. There wasn’t a single holiday that Tammy didn’t decorate for. She loved her people, and they knew it. Tammy had the pleasure of making friends with them all. She would always have little parties, especially during Christmas, and everyone would draw names. Tammy did that until Covid shut it down in 2020. During that period, we were blessed with our first grandbaby, and she became known as Nana. Callie was her pride and joy! We also gained a son, Jeremy, and he’s a keeper! Then, we were blessed with Paisley, and oh man, what a doll she is, and she was crazy for her Nana! It gets better! We now have two more grandbabies, Ana and Ariel, as well as a daughter, Cory. After the kids were grown, the lake life was born. Tammy enjoyed being out on the boat and getting some sun! She spent the majority of her time there for several years and built friendships that truly became family. Chad & Amanda, Steve & Robin, Roger & Cynthia, Tracy & Diana, as well as their kids, are forever in her heart!! She had tons of friends, with way too many to mention. Mike & Darla, David & Lita, James & Cinda, Steve & Darlene, Sabrina, Kirk, and Linda are just a few. As we all say, those were the good old days! Let the good times roll! In February 2022, Tammy had a major stroke. The doctors informed the family that she wouldn’t make it, but they didn’t know how tough she was! Tammy knew God still had a plan for her! God blessed us all with another year and a half with her. Tammy never complained and she was stronger than anyone I have ever known. She always had a smile. Unfortunately, all the health issues finally took their toll. Don’t you worry about Tammy, because she has been healed of all the pain! Remember this my family and friends, some are chosen to go through it, and some are chosen to watch. Tammy went through it all by having faith in God. Babe, thanks for waiting for me to get home! I love you so, so much! Rest in peace my beautiful wife and I will see you in the blink of an eye. I would like to thank all of Tammy’s friends and family for being a part of her life! Also, I want to thank the staff of Davita Dialysis Ranch: Heather, Kim, Buddy, Tonya, and many more behind the scenes for taking such loving care of Tammy. She loved you all!! I want to thank her sisters, Jenny & Tonya, for all their help after her stroke, and to my sister, Gwen, and mother-in-law, Linda Worthy, for taking such good care of her while I was away. I ran across these scriptures this morning from Tammy’s daily prayer cards that she kept out. Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want Psalm 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass John 8:32 and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith! She was my best friend, and I am missing her. Love Always, Jimmy Tammy is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jimmy; father, William Worthy and wife Linda of Bowie, TX; son, Christopher Kemp of Denton, TX; daughters, Megan Saatsaz and husband Jeremey of Pilot Point, TX and Cory Bong of Pilot Point; four grandchildren, Callie, Ariel, Ana, and Paisley; two sisters, Tonya Worthy of Denton, TX, and Jenny Smith and husband Phillip of Plano, TX; grandfather, Bill Blackburn; mother-in-law, Edwina Armor; three brothers-in-law, Terry Armor , Jeff Armor, and Darrell Armor and wife Cynthia; one sister-in-law, Gwen Armor; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Worthy; grandmother, Viola Blackburn; grandparents, William and Wanda Worthy; cousin, Renee Blackburn; father-in-law, Billy Armor; and brother-in-law, Donald Armor. A visitation will held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX. Tammy’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Slay Memorial Chapel with Frank Ehrhorn officiating. Interment to follow at Pilot Point Community Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX. Pallbearers are Robin White, Amanda Faith, Cynthia Kelly, Kelly Kimmel, Kerstin McCaffety, and Brittany McCaffety. After the services, family and friends will gather for food & fellowship at the Pilot Point Senior Center, 310 S Washington St, Pilot Point, TX 76258 from 12:00 – 5:00 PM.
