    Agnes Juanita Gibbs

    January 1, 1914 - January 3, 2013

    Agnes Juanita Gibbs, 99, of Pilot Point, Texas passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at her residence. Agnes was born January 1, 1914 in the Navo area and was the daughter of Oma Denison Shafer and Charlie W. Shafer. She married Ted W. Gibbs October 30, 1930 in Madill, Oklahoma. Agnes worked as a homemaker, seamstress and cook. Visitation for Agnes will be held at Slay Memorial Funeral Center on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point, Texas. Burial will be at Pilot Point Community Cemetery. Agnes is survived by her daughter, Martha Stephens and husband Ernest of Austin, TX; daughter Jean Howard of Pilot Point; daughter, Teddy Inman of Pilot Point; brother, Charles Shafer of Dallas, TX; James Shafer of Gun Barrel City, TX; Jack Shafer of Kemp, TX; and sister Margie Lambert of Carrollton, TX. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; two daughters, JoAnn Dunn and Pat Lewis; and two brothers, Johnny Shafer and Amos Shafer. Funeral services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
