    Dennis Ray Pratt

    December 30, 1964 - February 27, 2022

    Dennis Ray Pratt, 57, of Oak Point, TX passed away peacefully on February 27, 2022, in Frisco, Texas. He was born on December 30, 1964, to James Ray Pratt and Ina Jane (Ewers) Pratt. Dennis grew up in Victoria, Texas and the surrounding Houston area. After graduating high school, Dennis joined the United States Air Force and served 8 years as an Air Traffic Control Radar Specialist supporting both Desert Storm and Desert Shield campaigns. While stationed at Lindsey Air Station in Wiesbaden, Germany Dennis met and fell in love with his wife Joanne McHugh and they were married on September 24, 1988 in Aurora, Colorado. After leaving the Air Force, Dennis began working for the National Weather Service and then later with the Federal Aviation Administration where he retired after 36 years of Federal Service. Dennis had a passion for the outdoors and for helping others in need. He assisted Veterans with their VA disability requests to obtain disability income. He loved spending time at his cabins in Oklahoma with his loving wife and son, James, whom he adored. Dennis enjoyed teaching his son about nature and wildlife. He was a very generous soul and always put others before himself. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents James Ray Pratt and Ina Jane (Ewers) Pratt, Shannon Lee Pratt, and Lydia Ann Jaramillo-Zambrano. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Joanne Pratt, son James Blake Pratt; brothers, Kelvin Shane Pratt and wife, Kaci of Ganado, TX, Derrick Pratt, Glenn Pratt both of Victoria, TX, Roland Marines and wife, Marylou, Ismael Zambrano, David Zambrano and wife, Merissa, Salvador Zambrano and partner Erika, Jason Zambrano all of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Maria Marines and Lori Zambrano both of San Antonio, TX; uncle, Daryl Ewers and wife, Mary, of Victoria, TX; Mike Merino Sr. and family of Corpus Christi, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Private graveside services with military honors will be held at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 1:00PM at Hope Fellowship Church of Frisco, 309 Main St. Frisco, TX 75034 Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com Arrangements are under the direction of Charlotte Chism Waldrum and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
