Javier Antonio Cantu Martinez, Jr.

September 22, 1996 - December 8, 2018

On Saturday, December 8th, 2018, Javier Antonio Cantu Martinez, Jr. a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend of many went to be with the Lord at the young age of 22 years. Javier was born on September 22nd, 1996 in Dallas, Texas.  Javier will forever be remembered by his loving parents, Javier and Mayra Cantu, his two sisters Mayra and Natalie Cantu. Javier will also be fondly remembered by his grandmother, Sra. Maria Aguirre Martinez, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and his dear friends. All of which he loved and touched deeply. Javier’s love for life and everyone in it was infectious.  His family and friends knew him as a kind and loving person who was always thinking of others first. He enjoyed helping people, loved spending time with family and friends’, laughing and bringing joy to others with his humor, and always wore a smile on his face. His heart of gold touched so many lives, strangers and friends alike. He made the best out of every moment. He always had his family, and became a part of so many other families like he was their own. In his memory remember, John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Javier was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Ismael Cantu Guerra and Ernesto Alanis Martinez; grandmother, Maria de los Santos Cantu; cousin, Dania Aguirre Cantu; cousin, Salvador Gongora Cantu; and cousin, Nancy Nayeli Gongora Cantu de Espinosa. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.  A rosary will be held from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.  Speakers & family condolences will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, with Mass beginning at 8:00 PM.  All services will be held at Slay Memorial Funeral Center, 400 Highway 377, Aubrey, Texas 76227. Services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
