Judy Darlene Sartor
June 29, 1958 - May 10, 2021
Judy Darlene Sartor, 62, was called home Monday, May 10, 2021 in Denton, TX surrounded by loved ones. Judy was born June 29, 1958 in Denison, TX to James Andis and Lorene (Bentley) Sartor. She graduated from Airline High School in Bossier City, LA in 1976 and later moved back to Texas. She went to work for Southwestern Bell in Dallas, TX. Judy met her best friend in life, Teresa Starr, in 1980 and later moved to Denton, TX. In her younger days, Judy could be described as a wild child. She had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Her southern accent was bold and charming. Judy’s favorite pastime was shopping and socializing. When the MS altered her life forever, she learned how to use the internet. It allowed her to keep up with her family/friends, the news, and her shopping habits. She also had a great love for animals, after her poodle Jumper passed, she only had cats. Her favorite felines were Beano and later in life it was all about Miles. But she never met an animal that she didn’t love. Judy is survived by her best friend, Teresa Starr of Sanger, TX; brothers, James Ray Sartor and wife Chrissie of Denton, TX and Daryl Lynn Sartor of Denison, TX; brother-in-law, Jon Hansen of Denton, TX; nephews, Jon Neil Hansen and wife Leigh Ann of Lewisville, TX, and James Ryan Sartor and wife Kaci of Bowie, TX; niece, Alicia Rai (Sartor) Neal and husband Kevin of Pilot Point, TX; and great-nieces and nephew, Tiffany Sartor, Madison Hartin, and Daniel Sartor. She will also be missed by many other dear family members and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lorene; and sister, Brenda (Sartor) Hansen. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Preston Bend Cemetery in Pottsboro, TX. Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, www.nationalmssociety.org/donate. Select “Give in Honor or Memory” and follow the instructions. Arrangements are under the direction of Devon Calverley and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
