Kai Chi (Kathy) Hou, 45, of Providence Village, TX, passed from this world on Monday, April 4, 2022. Kathy was born January 31, 1977, on a beautiful Monday, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan to Kung Huang Hou and Yu-Yeh Lin. Kathy married Nicholas Drew on November 16, 2003, in Las Vegas, NV. Kathy and her younger sister, I Pin (Peggy) Hou, grew up in a very loving family. Her mother was a dog breeder. While growing up Kathy had a pug that was named Wawa. Kathy earned her Masters Degree in Linguistic’s from Providence University in Taichung, Taiwan. After completing her degree, Kathy became a tutor and she helped many children learn to speak English. In 2002, Kathy met Nicholas on the internet and shortly after in Los Angeles, CA, they both met in person. The two of them continued their burgeoning romance online until 2003 when Kathy and her family returned to Los Angeles and joined Nicholas and they were married on November 16, 2003, in Las Vegas, NV. In July of 2004, Kathy and Nicholas officially moved to Las Vegas where they bought a lovely home in the southwestern part of the city. At first Kathy worked as a barista for Starbucks and not long after she joined Bank of America. She continued in the banking industry until 2012, where she was employed as a Banker at Town & Country Bank. In 2006, Kathy brought Mikaelyn into this world and in 2009 Miona completed the Drew family. The family moved to Dallas in 2012. They purchased their home in Providence Village, TX in 2014. Coincidentally, this town had the same name as the college that Kathy attended in Taiwan. It was simply providence that Kathy’s last earthly residence was here. Kathy was regularly active in yoga, ziplining, skiing, and loved to cook. Her brownies were amazing. Very few people knew that Kathy was certified as a pianist by Yamaha. She played beautifully!! Her favorite place was Vail, CO, her favorite drink was coffee, and her favorite flowers were tulips. Kathy was an avid reader, she could sit and read book after book. She also, loved to watch movies with her family. Kathy loved everyone immensely and she surrounded herself with family, her pug, Puggybon and many great friends. She lived a wonderful life and in return was loved dearly. She will be remembered forever by those who loved her as a beautiful and loving person. 永遠愛妳凱綺 Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas Drew; daughters, Mikaelyn, and Miona Drew; parents, Kung Huang Hou and Yu-Yeh Lin; sister, I Pin (Peggy) Hou; and Puggybon Drew, her faithful dog. A funeral service will be 10:00AM–11:00AM, Monday, April 11, 2022, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX with Terri L. Slay officiating.
