    Kelly Jane Kerr

    July 2, 1966 - October 7, 2021

Kelly Jane Kerr, 55, of Dallas, TX, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 in Dallas, TX. She was born July 2, 1966 in Harari, Zimbabwe, Africa to David and Margot Clinker. Kelly married Richard Kent Kerr February 27, 2020 in Cape Town, South Africa. Kelly achieved her BA in Finance Magna Cum Laude from Dallas Baptist at night while also working and taking care of her infant son. She sacrificed everything she had so she could make a better life for her sons, Madison and Henry. Kelly was an amazing, selfless, and generous lady. She protected the weak, innocent, and downtrodden. She always gave money to the homeless—it was ridiculous, not a dollar, not ten dollars, always more. Kelly loved her dogs Lucky and Shy, dancing, and Flamingo Beach in Costa Rica. She was a great snow skier, exceptional chess player, math whiz, and spoke three languages. She learned to swim in South Africa. As an incredible swimmer, she would venture way out in the ocean with big waves. Kelly is survived by her husband, Richard of Dallas, TX; mother, Margot Burrell of Frisco, TX; two sons, John Madison Watson of Denver, CO and Henry Weatherby Watson of Dallas, TX; two daughters by marriage, Courtney Nicole Kerr of Dallas, TX and Crystal Kerr Lyons and husband Ron of Celina, TX; grandchild by marriage, Reese Kinley Robbins; nephews by marriage, Daniel Kerr and wife Denise and Christopher Kerr and wife Amy. Kelly was preceded in death by her father, David Clinker; brother, Steen Erik Oldenburg Burrell; and sister, Kim Amanda Oldenburg. Interment will be 10:00AM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Aubrey, TX with Pastor Kevin McClain officiating. A memorial service will be held later that day at 2:00PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas, TX with Father Milton Ryan officiating. Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com. Flowers can be sent to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Medical City Children’s Hospital in Kelly’s honor. Arrangements are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
