Marvin Duane Prose, Jr., of Pilot Point, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Denton, TX, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Marvin Duane, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Sample on November 19, 1943, in Blakesburg, Iowa. Marvin enjoyed hunting, gardening, and roller skating. He also enjoyed beekeeping and watching old movies. In his earlier years, Marvin drove an 18-wheeler and later worked as a self-employed auto mechanic, opening his own shop. His passion in life was tinkering with cars and fixing things. Most of all, Marvin loved his time spent with his family. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Wanda June Agan Prose of Pilot Point; his daughters, Candy Bilyeu and husband, Glen of Boerne, Sherry Pitts and husband, Steven of Nederland, Cindy Torres of Aubrey, Michelle LeBlanc and husband, Mark of Rhome; his son, Thomas Prose and wife, Stefanie of San Antonio; his brother, Michael Dennis Prose of the Philippines; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Duane Prose, Sr.; his mother, Mary Elizabeth Prose; his daughter, Tammy Sue Malsbary Prose; and by his brother, Marion Dewayne Prose. A celebration of life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the Slay Memorial Chapel, Aubrey. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, December 4, 2021, in the Slay Memorial Chapel, Aubrey.
