Michael Stephen Hankins, 67 of Cross Roads, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 in Denton. He was born September 4, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas. Michael enjoyed spending time with family and playing and watching sports, especially Texas Longhorns. Throughout his life, he played basketball, golf, tennis, football, racquetball, ran track, and many more. In recent years he spent time at home with his wife, and 3 fur baby dogs he adored. He loved his grandchildren very much. He worked at Specialized Products for over 40 years in different departments and cities, and prior to that served our country in the army overseas. He was a friend to all and touched so many lives. An outstanding husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and overall man. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue Hankins; his son, Larry Bret Hankins and wife Tina Hankins; his stepdaughters, Amber Bissell and her husband, Ryan and Kimberly Quintana; his grandchildren, Selah Hankins, Levi Hankins, Amanda Robinson, Aiden Bissell, Cambry Quintana, Sebastian Quintana, Addison Quintana, John Tobias, Hailey Brock, and Christian Brock; his sisters, Pat Rogers and Dianne Scurlock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Gladys (Trudy) Anderson Hankins, his brother Larry Marx, and his stepson David Brock. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 in the Slay Memorial Chapel, Aubrey. Interment will follow at the Belew Cemetery, Aubrey. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Slay Memorial Chapel, Aubrey.
