William "Willie" Bernard Koerner, 92, of Pilot Point, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Pilot Point, TX. William was born in Pilot Point, September 29, 1922 to John and Cecilia (Roewe) Koerner. He married Marcella Bindel in Muenster on May 3, 1949. From this 65 year union they raised two daughters, Linda and Sharon, four sons, Leroy, Donnie, Floyd, and Gary. William served in the US Navy during World War II in the early 1940's. After being discharged he became a plumber and was in business with CB Looper. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the American Legion, and a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus. Many will remember him as a kind person, an active member of the Knights of Columbus, that he never met a stranger, and he enjoyed life. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, helping others anyway he could, and spending every moment with the love of his lifeMarcella. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Marcella of Pilot Point; two daughters, Linda and husband Sid Newton of Burleson, Sharon and Larry Stuckly of Pilot Point; four sons, Leroy and wife Charlotte of Collinsville, Donnie and wife Elise of Little Elm, Floyd and wife Kathy of Pilot Point, Gary of Callisburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Christopher Newton of Burleson; Travis, Molly, Katie, and Callie Koerner of Collinsville; Dustin Koerner and his fiancé Shea and son, Wyatt, of Austin; Zachary Koerner of Dallas; Karli Koerner of Austin; Jessica and husband Clint Fuller of Round Rock; Kodi Koerner of Wichita, KS; Joe and wife Shawna Koerner and daughter, Kynlee, of Whitesboro; Rachel and husband Jimmy McMains and son, Hayden, and daughter, Haylee, of Callisburg; Sarah and husband Chris Luttmer and daughter, Madison of St. Jo; Jacob and wife Brittany Stuckly and son, Kade, and daughter, Kaclyn, of College Station; Ethan and wife Dayla Stuckly of Victoria; and Devin Stuckly of Pilot Point. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Regina Moore; and grandson, Chad Newton. A rosary will be held 7:00PM with visitation following until 8:30PM, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Slay Memorial Chapel of Pilot Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point with Fr. Tom Kennedy officiating.
