Our beloved mother, mother-n-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt & friend to many made her final journey home to Heaven on Tuesday, June 30,2015. Aumon spent her last days at the Senior Care Center of Denton. We would like to say a special thank you to Nurse Hong Tram & staff from Hospice Plus & care takers at Senior Care. Also want to say thank you to Wanda Harwell for being such a good friend to Aumon during her stay at Senior Care Center. You were so kind to share your dinner table with her when she first came, helping her to adjust & making sure she was taken to Sunday Service at the center. Another thank you to Chirstine Weeks, you were mom's first roommate at the care center, our family all agrees that you were a God sent to her. It gave us great comfort to know that you always kept an eye on her & were so kind to help her when at times she couldn't help herself & we couldn't be there. May God Bless you all for your kindness. Aumon Squires, 89, of Pilot Point, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Senior Care in Denton. She was born to Edward Ferris Lawson and Dovvie Pearl Tidmore in Pilot Point. Aumon married Harold Grover Squires on July 2, 1945 in Denton. She was the Valedictorian of the 1942 class of Aubrey High School. She was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church in Tioga, where she enjoyed worship & fellowship with her church family. Aumon is survived by one daughter, Carolyn and husband Jimmy Hampton of Whitesboro; and one son, Gene and wife Shirley Squires of Krugerville; brother in law and sister in law Truman and Joy(Squires) Walker of Denton. Four grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Hampton,Jr. & wife Gaby, Heather Walden & husband Chris Walden, Justin Hampton & wife Pam, Heath Squires, five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah & Quincy Walden, Eric & Jessie Hampton, Chance(Squires) Mundy, and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Edward & Dovie Tidmore Lawson, husband; Harold Grover Squires(of 56 yrs), four brothers; J.C., Audie, Calvin, and Chuck Lawson and four sisters; Myrle Lawson, Eloise Montgomery, Lovelia Hodges, and Pyrle Smith.. Visitation will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 10:00am at Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Belew Cemetery. Ministers for the service are Jonathan Daves, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church Tioga, TX & Chris Walden, grandson-n-law & pastor of First Rock Fellowship in Aubrey, TX. Pallbearers: Grandsons; Jimmy Lee Hampton, Justin Hampton, Heath Squires & Nephews; James Montgomery & Brandy Walker & Friend; Richard Duvall. Honorary Pallbearers: Nephew; Dwayne Lawson, Men of Friendship Baptist Church; Bob Carrigan, Ron Scott, Harold Hampton, Bro. Charles Carter, Wayne Carrigan, Roy Turpin, Larry Bartel, Seth Chenault, Mick Clark. Songs for service: "How Great Thou Art", by Heather Walden(granddaughter) & "An Unclouded Day", by Edwin Carrigan (music minister Friendship Baptist Church), both will be accompanied by pianist Von Tetmeyer.
