Barbara Ann Sitzes, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at her home in Pilot Point. She was born February 8, 1940 in Cooke County to Glen W. and Hazel M. (Cox) Potts. She was a 1958 graduate of Grand Prairie High School and married Charles R. Boyd in 1959. After forty-three years of marriage, Charles passed away in Oklahoma City. Barbara reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Harold W. Sitzes, whom she married in late 2003. Sadly, Barbara lost Harold to a battle with cancer in 2005, but remained in the couple's home in Pilot Point from that time forward. Barbara accepted Christ as her Lord at an early age. She loved music, gardening, and caring for her grandchildren. She also loved to shop and to support her Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Oklahoma Sooners. Barbara is survived by her brother Jeff Potts (wife Kris) of Fort Worth, son Greg Boyd (wife Vicki) of Providence Village, daughter Shelly Johnston (husband Doug) of Oklahoma City, grandchildren, Chase Botkin and Lindsey Botkin of Oklahoma City, Jordan Boyd (wife Raine) of Providence Village, Amy Boyd (husband Joshua Wadlin) of Baltimore, Dillon Bolding of Oklahoma City, Hanna Schuyler of Colorado Springs, and great-grandchildren Kenzie Botkin, Braxton Arnn, Jaden and Fisher Ramsey, and Elliot Boyd. She is also survived by her step-sons and their lovely families: the Rick and Cynthia Boyd family of Oklahoma City (Trey Boyd and Chrysi & Earl Doner with children Noah, Blythe, and Amelia), and the Rand and Joni Boyd family of Keller (with children Cory, Caity, and Cole). Barbara is predeceased by her parents, daughter Deborah Boyd Bolding, and her sister, Glenda Potts. The family extends a special thank you to Bob Majerus for his friendship and support to Barbara these last several years. Visitation will be held 2:00PM-3:00PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX and the funeral service will begin at 3:00PM. Interment will follow at Pilot Point Community Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX.
