Bobbie Louise Hampton, 87, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Denton, TX. She was born May 29, 1931 in Denton County, TX to Richard Forest and Lillie Naomi (Rawlins) Close. She attended school in Aubrey and Denton High School. Bobbie married Billie Joe Hampton on January 18, 1947 in Denton County, TX and were married for 70 years when he preceded her in death on October 12, 2017. Bobbie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She taught Sunday School, helped transport the youth when her girls were younger, and worked part time in the fall in the office at the peanut dryer. She and Bill loved to travel with friends to Branson and Crystal Beach. Her hobbies were reading, sewing and crocheting.Bobbie is survived by two daughters, Judy Cranmore and husband Eddie of Pilot Point, TX, Sharlotte Owens and husband Joe of Pilot Point, TX; four grandchildren, Lily Owens and Christopher Owens and wife, Gwen, Jeff Cranmore and wife, Jamie and Joseph Cranmore; five great-grandchildren, Garret, Evan, and Rhys Owens, Daniel and Edward Cranmore; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hampton; two sisters-in-law, Iva Hampton of Aubrey, TX, Geneva Hampton Smith of Krugerville, TX. Special extended family, Clint, Debbie and Savanna Dawes, and special and loving caregivers, Diane Johnson and Linda Webb.She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lillie; husband, Billie; brother, Richard Forest Close, Jr.; and sister, Janeta Wilkerson. Visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Krugerville in Aubrey, TX and the funeral service will begin at 11:00AM with Rev. Sam Redfearn officiating. Interment to follow at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, TX. Pallbearers are Chris Owens, Jeff Cranmore, Joseph Cranmore, H.L. Brockett, Paul Redfearn and Lindon Webb.
