Harold Edward King, 72, of Aubrey, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on December 7, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Born on August 29, 1952, in Sonora, Texas, he was the son of Robert Edward and Maude Novell King. Harold was preceded in death by his parents. A proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Harold earned a double major in mathematics and physics. He dedicated his career to the IT industry, serving as a systems analyst at Verizon, where his intelligence and dedication shone brightly. Harold had a zest for life, enjoying activities such as scuba diving, taekwondo, and traveling. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Shantai, and a loving father to his children: Stephanie King and fiancé Jason Gayford of Rowlett, Texas; Jarvis Hodge of Dallas, Texas; and Zachary Edward King and fiancée Rebecca Perez of Denton, Texas. He is also survived by 12 adoring grandchildren: Xavier, Colton, Marlee, Trenton, Savannah, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Presley, Adalynne, Teddy, Jayalan, and Elliot; and his daughter-in-love, Jonnie Thornton and her husband Na’Im Thornton of Celina, Texas. Harold is also survived by his two brothers, James King and wife Janet of Overton, Texas, and Richard King and wife Deborah of Burleson, Texas, along with sister-in-law Latonya Fuller and mother-in-law Cleopatra Fuller of Denton, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special mentions of gratitude for the love and support from Anitra Mask, Trina Simon Montanez, Cesar and Cynthia Gallegos during this difficult time. They would also like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Trio Hospice, especially the wonderful nurses who provided hands-on care for Harold: Candy, Mandy, Becky, and Bummi, who are truly exceptional. Additionally, gratitude goes to Dr. Jasti and The Center for Blood and Disease Disorders for their unwavering support and hope. Known for his honesty, dependability, and strong Christian faith, Harold touched the lives of many with his wisdom and encouraging words. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A memorial service celebrating Harold's life will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX.
