James (Jim) Alfred White, 88, of Pilot Point, TX passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in Pilot Point, TX. He was born on January 26, 1936, in Newburgh, NY to James Frederick and Henrietta Julia (Springstead) White. Jim served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He was assigned to the B-36 Bomber during the Korean War era. After the military, Jim worked as a carpenter in New York. Upon the death of his second wife, Janice Lewallen, he moved to Texas to be near his sons. Jim met his wife, Gloria Jean Perkins, and they got married on July 31, 2004, in Bryan, TX. He became a Petroleum Landman, working alongside Gloria. Through the years he studied music, and without any formal lessons he taught himself to play the organ, violin, accordion, chapman stick, and harp. Jim built and flew his own experimental airplane. He enjoyed motorcycles, 4-wheelers, metal detecting, macrame, and playing games with friends and family. Jim also enjoyed dancing, traveling, and kayaking. Jim was active in the church, where he loved to sing in the choir. He had an infectious smile, and his hugs and joyful spirit uplifted everyone he met. Jim’s love for God, family, and friends was obvious. His trust in God, even in the face of adversity, was inspiring. Jim is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gloria; two sons, James R. White and his wife Darlene of Cleveland, TX and Timothy W. White of Splendora, TX; two granddaughters, Harley White and Timbra White of Splendora, TX; and three great grandchildren, Jesse, Benji, and Kennedy Tamez; three bonus children with his wife Janice, Becky Costanzo her husband Chris of Atlanta, GA, Brian Lewallen, and Brad Lewallen; two bonus grandchildren, Cody and Tanner Weir; one bonus daughter with his wife Gloria, Karen Rabroker and husband Andrew of Carrollton, TX; five bonus grandchildren, Sarah Moreau and husband Leo of Wasilla, AK, Justin Rabroker and wife Kodie of Carrollton, TX, Scott Rabroker of Lewisville, TX, Robby Rabroker and Samantha Rabroker of Carrollton, TX; three bonus great grandchildren, Baron Moreau, Thomas Rabroker, and Skylar Rabroker. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Henrietta; daughter-in-law, Marlene White; bonus son, Jesse Mayes; and bonus grandson, Dylan Costanzo. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church in Aubrey, TX.
