Kenneth Ray Welch was born on April 15, 1956 to Wilfred Donald Welch and Billie Jo (House) Welch in Idabel, Oklahoma. He passed away on August 17, 2020 in Denton, TX. He married Helen Johnson on December 21, 1973 in Dallas, TX. Kenneth was retired from the US Postal Service. Kenneth was of Christian faith and was an active member of First Rock Fellowship. Kenneth enjoyed music to its fullest, enjoyed attending concerts, and enjoyed watching movies of all kinds. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandkids. You would find Kenneth at stock shows, cheer competitions, and school band concerts or events. He was known and loved by many grandkids and honorary grandkids as “Paw-Paw or Pops”.Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen of 45 years. Kenneth was also preceded in death by both of his parents and siblings Donald, Alfred, Donna Lou, and Ginger.Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Jo Anna Wills and husband Grant of Krugerville, TX; son, Kenneth “Bubba” Welch and his wife Ella of Krugerville, TX; and son, Joshua Johnson and wife Sonya of Little Elm, TX; grandchildren, Parker and fiancée Emily, Rachel, Elizabeth, Naomi, Logan, Mace, Phillip, and Remington. Kenneth is also survived by brothers and sisters, Donna Neel, Dean Welch, Sue Weaver, Debbie Wallace, Randy Heller, Tommy Welch, Paula Phelps, Rose McDaniel, Ruth Bethers, Roy Stevens; many nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law James Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following groups that “Pops” loved supporting: First Rock Fellowship, c/o Fall Festival, PO Box 3, Aubrey, TX 76227, and Aubrey FFA, c/o Senior Scholarship, 510 Springhill Rd., Aubrey, TX 76227. Visitation will be held 6:00PM-7:00PM, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at First Rock Fellowship in Aubrey, TX with Rev. Chris Walden officiating. Interment will follow at Belew Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Wright, Josiah Duck, Kevin House, Damien Kurrin, Passmore Makoni, Beau Johnson, Gaylon King, and Alan Lessard.
