In Loving Memory of Rick Foster. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Richard Alan Foster. Rick departed this world on November 8, 2023, at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and a zest for life that touched the hearts of all who knew him. Rick was born in Roswell, New Mexico, to Loy and Evelyn Foster. From an early age, it was clear that he was destined for a life of extraordinary adventures. He approached every moment with optimism and lived his life by the motto, “Don’t sweat the small stuff...and it’s ALL small stuff.” Family was at the center of Rick's world. He met the love of his life, Brenda, and together they shared a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. They were happily married for 10 years and went on many adventures of their own. Rick was a dedicated father to Kristi, Kelly, and Diana, instilling in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and an insatiable curiosity for the world around them. In addition, he was a proud “Pa” to his grandchildren, Skye, Sara, Jason, Olivia, Gabriel, Jatziri, Geraldi, Rodrigo, Isaiah, and Anabelle, and “G-Pa” to his great-grandson, Halston. His larger-than-life love for his family is irreplaceable and will be greatly missed. Rick's faith was an integral part of his life. He found comfort and strength in his relationship with Jesus Christ, and his unshakable faith served as a guiding light, helping him navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience. He was a member of Cooke County Cowboy Church, where he enjoyed worshiping God with a little bit of “country” in it. Rick's love of adventure was truly infectious. He was an epic storyteller and had a passion for exploring the world that led him to achieving incredible heights in many different areas. He fully believed in living life as an active participant, not as a spectator. He felt that life was an incredible journey, and he lived it in a very big and bold way. He loved his horses, his friends, and he loved helping others. He was proud to serve as a Mason in the Gainesville, Texas Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sisters, Linda and Pat; daughters, Kristi, Kelly, and Diana, along with their respective spouses, Gerzain, Jason, and Richard; grandchildren, Skye and husband Merik, Sara, Jason, Olivia, Gabriel, Jatziri, Geraldi, Rodrigo, Isaiah, and Anabelle; and great-grandchild, Halston; along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Bob, and his parents Loy and Evelyn. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the extraordinary life he led and the indelible mark he left on this world. A Celebration of Life to honor Rick will be held at Cooke County Cowboy Church, Friday, November 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
