It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend, Victor Whitlock, on Friday August 15, 2025. This is a profound loss for all who knew him. He had a gift for friendship—everyone who met him felt his warmth, and many would say he was the kindest person they had ever known. Victor Anthony Whitlock was born February 1, 1953, in Oklahoma City, OK to Charles Edward Whitlock and Dorris Odell Spurlock. Victor married Renetta Lynn Shell in Las Vegas, March of 2004, and together they built a life filled with love, joy, and a shared passion for dogs. Both he and Lynn were deeply involved in dog shows and became respected breeders of Borzoi and Silken Windhounds. Their dedication and care brought them great happiness, as well as the admiration of their community. His love for dogs extended beyond breeding and showing. He was an active member and past President of Gazehounds in Texas, a longtime member of the Borzoi Club of America, and a member of the International Silken Windhound Society. Always generous with his time and energy, Victor frequently assisted multiple dog clubs as a lure operator for performance events, embodying his commitment to supporting others and strengthening the community he loved. Outside of his love of dogs, he was also an accomplished academic. Having both a degree in Mathematics and an MBA in Information Systems Management, Victor worked with the Tyler Tech Finance IT team as an Applications Administrator for over 8 years. He took part in so many monumental moments for the company. Prior to joining Tyler, Victor shared his calculated brilliance in various organizations, serving as an administrator of finance, HR, insurance, and procurement systems. Victor’s kindness, enthusiasm, and unwavering support touched countless lives. He will be remembered not only for his dedication to the world of dogs, but also for his genuine spirit and the friendships he nurtured throughout his life. We hold Victor’s family and loved ones close in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will be cherished always. Victor is survived by his wife Renetta Lynn Shell; sister, Charlyn Whitlock of Bellingham, WA; half-sisters; Lynn Robinson and Colleen Groner; and half-brother, Patrick Cleary. Victor was preceded in death by his parents Dorris and Charles Whitlock. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Slay Memorial Chapel of Aubrey, TX, from 6:30PM to 7:30PM.
